Joycian Days
February 3, 2010
As I am about to turn 30 I have had the opportunity to have a think about what I have done in the last ten years of my life. These years are the time that most people use to expand their minds and enjoy the vigour of youth, whereas it has become clear to me that I have spent most of the decade in tedious and unfulfilling employment and generally not having much fun at all in the pursuit of money.
Clearly this state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue.
Throughout the year I have taken the decision to engage in as much culture and merriment as I possibly can without spending huge amounts of lucre in the process. I hope to engage myself in hedonism and more sombre pleasures, all with the final goal of being able to look back at some point and see that the whole process was not a total waste of time and effort.
I will also get drunk with friends more.
More anon.
